The main driver
for a new industrial consortium DOMINO is the need to establish
design methods for the manufacture of novel dispersed nano-particulate
products, allowing the rapid implementation of processes to manufacture
predictable products, which meet rigorous quality standards.
DOMINO will
carry out experimental and simulation work enabling its Members
to apply the knowledge (data, correlations, models and design tools)
to their processes, allowing rapid scale-up and consistent product
quality. Founder Members will have the opportunity to direct the
first phase of the project at the kick-off meeting on 18th October
2007.
Primary technical
areas for the first phase are: .
- Particle
Incorporation into Liquid
- Break-up
and Dispersion of Particle Agglomerates
- Dispersion
Rheology
The Project
will deliver:
- Design Guides
and models with a sound basis for improving nanoparticle & emulsion
production, powder incorporation, de-agglomeration and dispersion
processes.
- Computational
models and sub-routines.
- Confidential
support for implementation of results.
- Training
and seminars.
- A platform
for members to network and discuss issues with peers from other
organisations.

The
Launch: 18 October 2007
BHR
Group has held detailed discussions with a number of chemical, pharmaceutical,
personal/household care and equipment supplier companies. Signed-up
Members have already been secured. Other interested companies are
very welcome to enter into discussions and join DOMINO in time for
the kick-off meeting on 18th October 2007.
The DOMINO
consortium will be run in the same way as FMP
(Fluid Mixing Processes), a BHR Group run industrial consortium,
which has provided major chemical companies with reactor design
data for the last 24 years.
Please contact
us to discuss your particular requirements.
