As part of a major technology development exercise in association with Subterra Ltd and Stewarts & Lloyds Plastics, BHR Group developed the hydraulic machinery and techniques to uniformly reduce the diameter of medium density polyethylene plastic liner pipe allowing it to be drawn through the underground line.

The combination of the diameter reduction method and the nature of the plastic allows the pipe to recover its original diameter (after a period of time under pressure) thereby fixing it in place.

The advantages of the technology are that it avoids expensive civil work and consequent disruption as well as the drawbacks of coating technologies.
