Diajet in Service with the UK Military

In partnership with AB Precision (Poole) Limited, DIAJET has been supplying numerous palletised ACE bomb-disposal units to the British army, air force and navy.  The contract is for several dozen machines together with full spares and in-service support.

The ACE machines come on a special pallet with environmental protection and can be airlifted or driven to wherever they are required. The component parts are man-portable and meet all NATO EMC, handling and environmental standards.

All of the ACE modules have passed accelerated life time testing together with tough proving trials, and of course, the highly prized NATO number has been awarded. We believe that ACE is the most sophisticated and versatile man-portable Explosive Ordnance Disposal equipment in the world.

Off-shore Decommissioning Diajet
reaches its 10th birthday!

We knew that Diajet technology was tough and reliable but it was a pleasant surprise to discover that a Diajet unit supplied for contract cutting was still being shipped around the world to contracts after 10 years!

If you know of an even older Diajet that is still working - let us know!

News from the Diajet archives

In 2000, the Russian submarine Kursk sank with the loss of all lives.  It is well-known that the main section was raised by Smit-Mammoet. What is less well-known is that a DIAJET unit was purchased to cut up the dangerous sections.  With its ability to cut underwater, by remote control, in hazardous conditions, DIAJET is ideal for such applications. Sorry folks - no pictures!

Did you know....

Some DIAJET models offer double abrasive vessels to maintain near-continuous cutting?

Or the same model can feed two cutting jets simultaneously for really fast work?

Editorial Musings

To the man in the street, a pallet is a few bits of wood knocked together, on which bricks are delivered.  To the British army, it was a flexible 2m square platform, made to aircraft industry standards, transportable anywhere in the world by land, ship or air, with the contents able to be unloaded by hand quickly and brought into action within minutes.  It also had to provide the environmental protection required (the ACE system can take whatever the weather throws at it, but personnel like some protection!)  Not surprisingly, it cost just a little more than the brickies' pallet!

Cambodian Bomb Buster
Cuts Live Munitions

The jungles of Cambodia will soon be safer following the installation of a Diajet explosives decommissioning unit. The legacy of the country's troubled past is a huge number of all kinds of bombs, mines and other devices. Under contract to the Golden West Humanitarian Foundation, Diajet built a manipulator and cutting system based on its rugged OSPREY unit and shipped to Cambodia. The system was successfully commissioned within 4 hours of being unpacked! More about: OSPREY or munitions decommissioning with Diajet.
