BHR Group has
been working in PI since the mid 1980s, and has amassed over 60
staff years of experience. This has been encapsulated in design
guides and software, enabling our multidisciplinary team of chemists
and engineers to rapidly address your needs. Highlights include:
- the HILINE
industrial research consortium, established in 1989, has provided
its members with in-depth understanding of the performance of
high intensity, in line mixers and reactors, such as static mixers,
ejectors, pump mixers and rotor-stator mixers. HILINE has now
been integrated into BHRSolutions' Fluid Mixing Processes
(FMP) consortium, where work continues
- combined
chemical reactor-heat exchanger (HEX
Reactor) design and development. HEX Reactors are suited to
highly exothermic reactions where heat needs to be taken out as
it is produced. Correct design leads to inherently safe processes
and can result in significantly improved yield and product quality.
BHR Group has characterised a range of existing heat exchanger
types as reactors and has developed the Marbond HEX Reactor (in
collaboration with Chart Heat Exchangers LP)
- FlexReactor
- combining the best features of the HEX Reactor with the flexibility
needed for modern batch process plant
- BHR Group
has developed unique PI Design Methodologies, which enable process
developers to approach PI in a structured way, starting with an
audit involving business and process
designers. These ensure that the correct opportunities are identified
and PI technologies selected - rather than trying to force a process
to fit into a particular piece of equipment
- BHR Group
has close links with other PI equipment vendors, so the solutions
we offer are not limited to our own technologies.
We have applied
our expertise to a broad range of chemical reaction types and features,
across the bulk, fine and speciality chemicals and pharmaceuticals
sectors.
