Audit
The PI audit is the key to successful intensification. This initial
study will rapidly tell you whether your process is suitable for
intensification, how it might be done and what the benefits are.

Measurement Services
Application of PI often requires measurement of more process information
(e.g. kinetics). BHR Group can design simple laboratory tests and
help interpret the results. These might be carried out by you, us
or through our partners.

Design Services
Once PI feasibility has been established, it is usual to consider
what the design of a PI plant would look like. In this phase a basic
P&ID will be produced, together with recommendations on what laboratory
and/or pilot trials might be needed. Often improvements to the process
chemistry come out at this stage.

Laboratory
and Pilot Plant
BHR Group can supply laboratory or pilot scale PI reactors
and miniplant. The units are highly flexible, and can cover a very
wide range of processes and conditions. Units are available for
rental or supply, backed by full applications support.
Protocol
Vessel
BHR Group's "Protocol Vessel" - fully engineered in a range of materials
- is a small highly stirred vessel which can provide mixing conditions
equivalent to those in a PI reactor.
Through extensive
research at BHR Group, the performance of the vessel has been fully
characterised and models developed allowing process development
chemists to apply the results directly to PI system design. This
provides a low-cost method of testing and characterising reactions
before implementing PI processes.
Importantly,
the vessels always come with a full training and support package
to help users get the most out of the equipment!
FlexReactor
BHR Group's award-winning FlexReactor packages simple but
effective PI technology into a highly reconfigurable package, making
it the PI reactor of choice for the higher added value chemicals
sector where flexible manufacturing is key. FlexReactor can
either be supplied on its own or as part of a mini FlexPlant.
Marbond™
HEX Reactor
If
very high heat transfer capability is required and flexibility is
not an issue, then the Marbond™ HEX
Reactor, developed in collaboration with Chart Heat Exchangers
LP, may be the optimum PI reactor.
Scale
Up
As well as providing its expertise in PI scale up, BHR Group and
its strategic partners can provide turnkey solutions for flexible,
transportable or fixed PI Plant.
