Project Organisation

Project co-ordination is undertaken by BHR Group Ltd (Dr Gul Ozcan-Taskin).

In addition to co-ordination activities, the project is organised in 7 Work Packages. Each Work Package is led by one of the partners with input from several other partners. In fact, the whole consortium relies on strong collaboration among partners.

Work Packages 1 and 2 develop standard methods and protocols, which will then be used to select reference nano materials. The physical properties of the reference particles and dispersions will be determined in these Work Packages.

Work Packages 3, 4 and 5 will investigate the incorporation and dispersion of particles in a liquid medium- more specifically processes which are dominated by the chemistry of the system, mechanical (such as particle-particle interactions) and hydrodynamic forces (fluid-particle interactions) in different process devices. Identification of mechanisms and model development will be undertaken in collaboration with Work Package 6.

Models from Work Packages 3, 4, 5 will be developed into computational methods in WP6.

The knowledge developed in all of the Work Packages will be used to develop design guides for product formulation in Work Package 7. These design guides will include tools for the selection of process equipment and operational conditions based on their chemical, mechanical and hydrodynamic dispersion mechanisms.
