Permanent test
facilities at BHR Group are 'open access': available to customers,
for a fee, to either use themselves with minimum supervision or
for use by BHR Group staff on their behalf. We also build test rigs
for specific projects which are normally decommissioned on project
completion.
The rigs are
housed in a large open-span laboratory which caters for a number
of physical models up to around 20m x 15m.
The rigs are
supported by a dedicated design office, wood and pattern making
shops (for building accurate scale models in wood, plastic or metal)
and a machine-shop. With instrumentation and data acquisition and
control services also provided on-site, this means that we offer
a comprehensive test rig "design, build and operate" service.
Our personnel
include:
- test rig
and mechanical designers
- skilled model-building
craftsmen
- process,
civil and mechanical engineers experienced in modern test methods
- instrumentation
and data measurement engineers
- engineering
analysts who use the test data to develop computer prediction
tools
In addition,
our Hydraulic Modelling service creates large scale models of civil
structures for hydraulic analysis and testing.
